LADY GAGA WINS BIG AT MTV VMAs 2010

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards could easily be said to be Lady Gaga’s.
The super talented Lady with a weird fashion style aside from having the
singular honour OF receiving an award from someONE she apparently models
herself after (Cher), also went home with the eight awards including
"album of the year".

The 24-year-old singer who won seven of her “moon man” trophies for Bad Romance gave in to tears as she picked up the top award from Cher at the end of the night.

Lady Gaga, who wore an outfit that appeared to be made of meat, admitted she was very nervous before the awards.

“I was so nervous tonight that I’d let my fans down,” she said.

She thereafter revealed that her new album would be called Born This Way and characteristically sang part of its title song.

Five awards short of her record setting thirteen awards nomination Lady Gaga still managed to tie with A-ha, who won eight awards in 1986, as the recipient of the second-most MTV prizes in one night, failing to break Peter Gabriel’s 1987 haul of 10 trophies – including nine for his ground-breaking animated video to Sledgehammer.

Gaga won in categories that include best pop video, best female video and best collaboration for Telephone, with Beyonce.

LADY GAGA’S AWARDS

Best collaboration – Telephone featuring Beyonce
Video of the year – Bad Romance
Best pop video – Bad Romance
Best female video – Bad Romance
Best dance music video – Bad Romance
Best choreography – Bad Romance
Best direction – Bad Romance
Best editing – Bad Romance

As always, Gaga was … well… herself although the night, arriving at the awards in a Victorian gown with Mohawk feather headdress by the late Alexander McQueen, and causing further wows with that aforementioned meaty dress.
